Definition
Steel sheet pile is a kind of section steel with lock. Its section has straight plate shape, groove shape and Z shape, etc., and there are various sizes and interlocking forms. The common ones are Larson type, Lackawanna type and so on. Its advantages are: high strength, easy to drive into hard soil; it can be constructed in deep water, and if necessary, it can be added with oblique supports to form a cage. Good waterproof performance; cofferdams of various shapes can be formed according to needs, and can be reused many times, so it has a wide range of uses.
Classification
According to the production process, steel sheet pile products are divided into two types: cold-formed thin-walled steel sheet piles and hot-rolled steel sheet piles.
(1) There are two types of cold-formed steel sheet piles: non-snap-type cold-formed steel sheet piles (also known as channel plates) and bite-type cold-formed steel sheet piles (divided into L-type, S-type, U-type, and Z-type) . Production process: use thinner plates (commonly with a thickness of 8mm to 14mm) to be continuously rolled and formed in the cold bending machine. Advantages: less investment in production line, lower production cost, flexible control of product sizing. Disadvantages: The thickness of each part of the pile body is the same, the cross-sectional size cannot be optimized, resulting in an increase in steel consumption, the shape of the locking part is difficult to control, the buckle at the joint is not tight, and the water cannot be stopped, and the pile body is prone to tearing during use.
(2) Hot-rolled steel sheet piles The hot-rolled steel sheet piles in the world mainly include U-type, Z-type, AS-type, H-type and dozens of specifications. The production, processing and installation process of Z-type and AS-type steel sheet piles are relatively complicated, and they are mainly used in Europe and the United States; domestically, U-type steel sheet piles are mainly used. Production process: It is formed by high-temperature rolling in a section steel rolling mill. Advantages: standard size, superior performance, reasonable cross-section, high quality, and tight water-repellent lock joint. Disadvantages: high technical difficulty, high production cost, inflexible specification series.
In engineering construction, the scope of application of cold-formed steel sheet piles is relatively narrow, and most of them are used as supplementary materials for applications. Hot-rolled steel sheet piles have always been the leading product for engineering applications. Based on the many advantages of steel sheet piles in construction operations, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine and the National Standardization Management Committee issued the national standard "Hot-rolled U-shaped steel sheet piles" on May 14, 2007, and on December 1, 2007 officially implemented. At the end of the 20th century, Maanshan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. relied on the technology and equipment conditions of the universal rolling mill production line imported from abroad to produce more than 5,000 tons of U-shaped steel sheet piles with a width of 400mm, which were successfully applied to the cofferdam of the Nenjiang Bridge and the 300,000 tons of Jingjiang New Century Shipyard. tons of docks and flood control projects in Bangladesh. However, due to low production efficiency, poor economic benefits, low domestic demand and insufficient technical experience during the trial production period, the continuous production failed. According to statistics, the annual consumption of steel sheet piles in my country remains at about 30,000 tons, accounting for only 1% of the world's total, and it is limited to some permanent projects such as ports, wharfs, and shipyards, as well as temporary construction of bridge cofferdams and foundation pit support. sex engineering.
The cold-formed steel sheet pile is continuously rolled and formed by the cold-formed machine, and the side locks can be continuously lapped to form a steel structure of the sheet pile wall. Cold-formed steel sheet piles are made of thinner plates (commonly used with a thickness of 8mm to 14mm) and processed by cold-formed forming machines. Its production cost is low and the price is cheap, and the sizing control is also more flexible. However, due to the simple processing method, the thickness of each part of the pile body is the same, and the cross-sectional size cannot be optimized, resulting in an increase in steel consumption; the shape of the locking part is difficult to control, and the buckle at the joint is not tight, and it is impossible to stop water; restricted by the capacity of cold bending processing equipment, only It can produce products with low steel strength and thin thickness; and the stress generated during the cold bending process is relatively large, and the pile body is prone to tearing during use, so the application has relatively large limitations. In engineering construction, the application range of cold-formed steel sheet piles is relatively narrow, and most of them are only used as supplementary materials. Features of cold-formed steel sheet piles: According to the actual situation of the project, the most economical and reasonable section can be selected to achieve the optimization of engineering design. Compared with the hot-rolled steel sheet piles with the same performance, the materials can be saved by 10-15%, which greatly reduces the construction cost.
